HOPE for Hungerford?
Thursday 24th August 2017 12:03
I love God and I love people and I love to get God and people together. Way back in October 2016 I was privileged to go to Lambeth Palace for the launch of HOPE Together. HOPE is an organisation which exists to help churches create mission moments in our annual calendar of events but this is nothing new.
Jesus left 12 apostles and about 120 disciples when he died. Then St Paul brought the good news to Rome, St Augustine came to Canterbury, St Birinus to Dorchester on Thames until eventually Ralph became the first vicar of Hungerford in 1148. And now around the world 2,300 Million people go to church on a Sunday. Because today one third of the world are Christians.
Here in Hungerford from 28 September to 1 October there are loads of events taking place under the banner of ‘HOPE for Hungerford’ each of which will have a presentation of the Christian faith:-
