Become a Friend
How much do you care about our parish church, 200 years old in August 2016?
You may not worship with us for a variety of reasons, but do you wish to see it in good repair inside and out for occasions when you do visit, such as carol services, baptisms, weddings, funerals and the great Christian festivals of Christmas and Easter?
If so you might be interested in becoming a Friend of St. Lawrence’s.
Who are the Friends of St. Lawrence's?
We are a group formed to help with the upkeep of the church. We don't subsidise the day-to-day running expenses but rather provide the extras such as:
- a second notice board in the churchyard
- new service sheets and carol sheets
- screens for the children’s corner
- a projector and screen
- cleaning the stained glass windows
- and so on...
How do you raise funds?
We organise various outings and events throughout the year:
- quizzes
- BBQs
- visits to cathedrals
- a garden party
- trips to local historical churches
- cheese and wine evenings
- visits to the Watermill theatre
Who can become a friend?
Anyone can!
You don't have to be a regular church-goer to become a Friend!
How much does it cost?
Just £10 per year.
How do I join?
Send a cheque made payable to The Friends of St. Lawrence’s Church to David Small, our Treasurer (address below).
We would welcome your friendship!
