Sparkling Streams

At St Lawrence’s we are working with local landowners to care for creation and renew the face of the earth.

At the beginning of the bible God commissions humanity to work the Garden of Eden and to take care of it. And at the end of the bible there is a vision of God making all things new which includes renewing the earth. So over recent years St Lawrence’s have been busy planting trees and so far we have planted 4,200 trees, including the lockdown woods and just over the Hungerford church swing bridge.

We would love to invite you to join us as we partner with Town and Manor in their sparkling streams project. (There is a great 15 minute YouTube clip on their website - see Sparkling Streams). Our role is to work alongside Rob Starr, the river keeper, to plant the margins of the recently restored River Kennet above Eddington Mill.

Our work parties will be on Thursday 17 February and Thursday 17 March, from 9.00am  – 12.30, meeting at St Lawrence’s Church RG17 0JB.

Everyone is welcome, simply email me and I will send your further details including any equipment it would be helpful to bring.

Climate Change is serious and requires us to take urgent action. St Lawrence’s can and are making a difference so please come and work with us. There is no Planet B!
