Our Vision
Monday 30th December 2024 14:16
Our vision is the same as Bishop Stephens vision namely
“To become more Christlike, for the sake of God’s world”
To demonstrate that we are moving towards this objective, there are three key outcomes. We want to see more people in worship with us week my week, we want to see more people joining our discussions in the home groups and we want to see more people serving the local community.
So, we want to invite everyone in Hungerford to join us as we serve the local community. You might like to join us on our monthly work party, we meet for the morning on the first Thursday of every month. In December we planted 900 trees for Jamie Acworth at Little Hidden farm and we are going back again in January.
Or you might like to join us for Saint Lawrence’s Lunches at the back of church on the first Tuesday of every month. There is an amazing buffet meal and loads of people come so in December we had about 48 people eating together. Everyone is welcome, especially those who are retired or working from home.
We are also seeking to engage with every generation. So, we were thrilled to welcome all three headteachers to Carols by candlelight and in every school we either took an assembly or they came to church for their Christmas presentation. We believe that the children are today’s church and tomorrow leaders. So, we love to invest into them so that they reach their full potential.
I love my job, and it is a massive privilege to work among you here in Hungerford. Thank you for supporting us over Christmas and lets all work together to make Hungerford, which is already a brilliant place to live, even more friendly and caring.
